Here at The Alpine Collection we always strived to innovate, both in the standards we set for property development and design and also by launching exciting new hospitality concepts for our Alpine Lodges property owners and our Alpine Resorts guests. 2023 was an excellent year for our team, with a number of exciting new projects coming to fruition. Here we review the year and tease you with some innovative new concepts for 2024.
January was significant for our whole organisation, as we launched OMMI Immobilier, a brand new trustee company to oversee the management of our many co-ownership projects and also a significant number of co-ownerships in Annecy, where the Alpine Collection is based. OMMI Immobilier is a forward-facing organisation with a dynamic leadership that will grow with us in the decades to come.
February brought us closer than ever before to the sport that keeps us all together - world class skiing! Our partnership with the Méribel-Courchevel Alpine World Ski Championships was immensely significant for the entire Alpine Collection team and our collaboration with this prestigious event ensures a legacy for mountain-lovers across the 3 Vallees in the years to come. Supporting local, regional, national and global events remains a focus for the Alpine Collection, both now and in the future.
March brought a sense of party to our Alpine Restaurants collection in resorts across the French Alps as we launched a partnership with Aperol. In recent years Aperol has become the apres-ski refreshment of choice for skiers and we combined this collaboration with a series of exceptional live music events in Les Gets. Thanks to everyone who joined us for the party in La Bokka and La Croix Blanche!
April was a month of celebration for the entire Alpine Collection team. We finished another exciting and successful winter season in our resorts across the Alps, with record levels of occupancy for our Alpine Resorts division. We were particularly humbled by the excellent feedback from our guests, particularly in relation to our hospitality experiences, such as at La Bokka in Les Gets and at Bistrot Manali in Courchevel.
May was a month of intense activity for our Alpine Lodges construction teams. The conclusion of the winter season means they were able to recommence construction of our Sundance and Steamboat real estate projects, both of which are in Courchevel Moriond. Sundance is currently on schedule for completion in the summer 2025, while Steamboat will be delivered at the end of 2024.
June took us to the USA! Commercial members of the Alpine Resorts team undertook a road show across The States, creating and strengthening partnerships. Meanwhile in Paris we organised a press conference to introduce the various Alpine Collection brands to key media contacts with huge success. We concluded the month with the expansion of our head quarters in Annecy, creating more space for our expanding team.
July is always a key month for our teams, as we seek to make connections and strengthen relationships on the ground in our alpine resorts with the launch of the summer season. To coincide with the launch of our Falcon residence in Meribel, we launched the inaugural Alpine Collection Cup in Meribel, a golf competition that involves the local community. It was a huge success and we’re already looking forward to the next event.
August is the month of the family holiday, yet here in the mountains we are conscious of our environmental and ecological responsibilities. We were proud to renew our partnership with UNISOAP, a dynamic and effective French company that takes used soaps from our holiday residences and recycles them. Our partnership with UNISOAP is just one example of our commitment to preserving our beautiful mountain environment.
September is a month dedicated to recruitment for our Alpine Resorts teams. They focus on finding talented, experienced and personable colleagues to assist our guests in holiday residences across the Alps. This means being present at trade and recruitment exhibitions and undertaking extensive interviews to ensure that we recruit the perfect team of hospitality professionals.
October was an exciting month for the Alpine Resorts team. Ahead of the scheduled completion of both Falcon in Meribel and Silverstone in Val d’Isere, we opened the reservations diaries for both and experienced strong demand.
November saw us making the finishing touches to both Falcon and Silverstone before the first guests arrived. This is always an exciting period, especially for interior design teams. They take delivery of furniture that was specified and ordered many months previously and they watch their designs come to life.
December concluded several years of incredible hard work from the entire Alpine Collection team as we complete both Falcon and Silverstone in the same month. Both developments were considerable in both their size and their scope, yet they were ready on time and completed to an incredibly high standard. There was much celebrating as we handed over the keys to our happy property owners - let’s get the winter season under way!
We’d designed Silverstone in Val d’Isere to look and feel like a private, exclusive community of luxurious holiday properties and we were thrilled by the results. Featuring private wellness areas with luxurious facilities and a slope-side location, we’re proud to have fulfilled this objective. The views over Bellevarde were simply the icing on the cake! Meanwhile at Falcon in Meribel, 32 individual apartments and 3 exclusive chalets came to life, just 150m from the Morel chairlift. This was a sizeable development for the Alpine Collection and we were thrilled by the feedback from our owners; it makes the hard work worth while!
Courchevel Moriond continues to thrive as a holiday location and we’ll continue our commitment to this jewel of a resort with Sundance and Steamboat, two full-service developments in the heart of the village. Meanwhile in Les Gets, Kangto and Kandahar are coming to life. These four prestigious projects will continue to occupy the full Alpine Collection team throughout the years.
Our Alpine Resorts collection of beautiful holiday properties now totals 16 different locations and with this in mind, we’re investing in a brand new website to help our guests plan their ultimate stay. This new website, which will be unveiled during 2024, will present our various locations and property opens for both summer and winter holidays and we’re excited to show you the results.
In the meantime, the entire Alpine Collection team offers you best wishes for the coming year and we’re looking forward to welcoming you to the mountains soon.
